Our Journey & Purpose
Respected Muslim brothers,
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate, and by sending salutations upon His Beloved Prophet Muhammad Musthafa ﷺ, we present before you a humble account of the journey of Masjid-E-Noori.
Sunni Hanafi brothers from Bannur, Padil, Haradi and surrounding areas, following the Mazhab of Imam-e-Azam Abu Hanifa (R.A.), felt a deep responsibility to unite, strengthen Deeni activities and uplift the religious life of the community.
Journey & Important Milestones
Initial discussions were held at Haradi Jaffar Compound, where Abdul Azeez Railway, Sheikh Ahmed, Sheikh Subhan, Sheikh Ismail, Basheer Ahammad and other respected elders gathered to deliberate on forming a strong Sunni Hanafi organisation.
These discussions later continued at Jaffar Compound, in the premises of Marhoom Ameer Saheb, where the decision to establish the organisation was firmly taken.
Under the esteemed guidance of
Allama Moulana Al-Haj Dr. Muhammad Fazil Razvi Kavalkatte,
the organisation was formally established and named
Noorul Islam Hanafi Kshema Nidhi Sangha.
Marhoom Sheikh Hassan Saheb of Padil Amar Compound was
appointed as the first President.
As the organisation grew, members were enrolled and monthly contributions were collected. With these funds, assistance was provided for the marriage of poor girls, support was extended to needy students, and several social service activities were carried out.
With the intention of strengthening Deeni education, an Arabic and Urdu Madrasa was started at the residence of Marhoom Ameer Saheb. Moulana Ibrahim Palthad was appointed as the first Muallim, through whom many children began learning Islamic education.
The Madrasa soon became a centre of learning and unity, where Republic Day and Independence Day were observed with Deeni activities, flag hoisting and distribution of sweets.
During Ramadan, with permission of Marhoom Sabjan Saheb, five-time Jamaat prayers including Taraweeh were conducted. Public Iftar gatherings were organised, sarees were distributed to poor women and widows, and Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha prayers were performed as Jamaat.
With expanding responsibilities, a collective decision was taken to acquire land for a permanent Madrasa and Masjid. At this crucial stage, Haji Mohammed Sharif of Moodabidri extended generous support, which became the first major donation and a turning point in the journey.
Seeking Allah’s blessings, the organisation President Abdul Azeez Railway, along with Ustad and members, visited Ajmer Sharif – Dargah of Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz (R.A.). Through this spiritual journey, the organisation was introduced to Marhoom Haji Ameen Noori, Trustee of Madina Masjid, Mangalore Port.
After witnessing the Madrasa activities, Marhoom Haji Ameen Noori assured complete support. Through his encouragement and contacts, generous contributions were received, enabling land purchase, preparation of Masjid drawings and further progress.
Under the leadership of Allama Dr. Muhammad Fazil Razvi Kavalkatte, and by the spiritual blessings of Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz (R.A.), the foundation stone of the Masjid was laid by Kurrassadat Sayyad Fazal Koyamma Tangal Al-Bukhari. Qibla alignment was guided by Shaikhuna Jabbar Ustad Mitthabailu, and foundation work was initiated by Sufi Rajab Ali.
With the efforts of Marhoom Haji Ameen Noori, windows, doors, woodwork and tiles were arranged through his close associates, while electrical work was managed by Ideal Yusuf, Bannur. Many Muslim brothers from near and far contributed materials, labour and financial support.
By the Mercy of Allah, the love of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and the blessings of
Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz (R.A.), the Masjid was completed and named:
Masjid-E-Noori – Sunni Hanafi Juma Masjid
The Masjid was inaugurated on December 25th 2009 under the leadership of Allama Moulana Al-Haj Dr. Muhammad Fazil Razvi Kavalkatte, with blessings from Ujire Sayyad Jalaluddin Thangal. The first Juma Khutbah and Salah were led by Allama Dr. Muhammad Fazil Razvi Kavalkatte, and Moulana Hafiz Husamuddin Razvi was appointed as the first Imam.
In later years, additional land was acquired, bringing the total area under the Masjid to 25 cents. Today, this blessed land houses the Grand Masjid, Madrasa building and Imam’s residence.
With heartfelt thanks,
